One of the best self catering houses

One of the best self catering houses we've ever had and we've had a lot. Visit to Elgin and Duff House. Museum in Elgin was very interesting.

Hillview meets all our needs very comfortable

Arrived at Hillview after a great week at your other house Windyhill near Ullapool. Had an excellent meal at Minmore House asked for the drawing room as we had a young child with us. Staff were excellent - meal superb.

18.6.06 - Went to Findhorn via Elgin. Findhorn had a strong spiritual feel, well worth a visit.
19.6.06 - Off to Duff House today = Banff Beautifull house and furnishing great park for children, we then followed the coast road fromBanff to Portroy, 17th Century harbour - lost in time. Take the chance to purchase Portsoy marble in the little shop next to harbour. Then on way back to Hillview - take back road to Fardyce - 17th century castleand very interesting joinery mueseum hands on action for the children from 5yrs to 95yrs.

Cottage met all our needs and more

Had a enjoyable stay at Hillview. House beautiful and spacious, kids had a fantastic time. Added our own stones to the cairn on top of mountain. Spectacular views. - The Howes

We had a great week

We had a great week. We enjoyed the distillery tour (3 times) including the free dram. Would recommend the Abielour Distillery (call early) tour. There is a coop in Avielour that is good for getting small groceries. Would not reccommend the Glenfiddich tour (a little smokey).
The cooperage is great for kids. The packhores bridge is a picturesque spot just down the road. The smokehouse is short and a bit overrated.
The house could use some large pans, black out shades on kids rooms for early sun ( owner comment - bought new large pans and all rooms now have blackout blinds). The new BBQ was great and facilities great!
