Cairngorm Facts

Cairngorm Ski Resort is the 2nd largest ski resort and offers some nice challenging ski runs. The pistes are made up of 50% Easy and Intermmediat and the other 50% Difficult and Very Difficult. There are 17 chair lifts and tows and about 17 runs.

The Cairngorm mountain is about 45 minets from Hillview cottage giving you easy acces. The resort offers good food and the Fenicular train means its eay to get up to the base station.

Visitor Information and Meeting Point

Located in the Base Station at Coire Cas. Meeting point, visitor information and lost property.

Ticket Office - (Important Changes for 2005)

The main ticket office is located in the Base Station at the Coire Cas car park.The Base Station ticket office sells skiing and funicular tickets, equipment hire and also deals with account customers. Snowsports Lessons Desk is located on Level 3 of the Day Lodge (Book and Pay for your lesson, lift ticket and equipment hire here). The Equipment collection point is also located on Level 3 of the Day Lodge (Pay for your equipment hire in the base station). Credit card transactions are slower to process than cash. During peak periods the ticket office can become extremely busy and queues do form.

Workshop for Hot Wax, Running Repairs, Safe Storage

Located on Level 3 of the Day Lodge (with equipment collection).
Experienced technicians can provide a hot wax while you wait, or an overnight crystal glide. Safe storage is available during the day or overnight for a small charge.

Hilton Ambassador Team

The CairnGorm Ambassador Team are highly visible in their Yellow and Black suits. Sponsored by Hilton Hotels they provide free guided tours, informal and friendly help and advice to visitors on the mountain, and are there to help answer any queries you may have.

Where to Eat

Car Park Level
The "Cas Bar" in the Day Lodge offers breakfast rolls from 8.30am, with light lunches, soup and sandwiches and a range of home baking. The Licensed Bar serves a range of drinks including Gluwein from 11am. Sorry - strictly no packed lunches permitted in the Cas Bar.

The T-bar is now a dedicated packed lunch area with the bar area opening during lunch periods at busy times (weekends and holidays) selling hot and cold drinks and snacks.

Mid Mountain
The Shieling is a dedicated packed lunch area when required.

Mountain Top
In winter the Ptarmigan Restaurant provides a self service style menu of wholesome traditional Scottish fare, hot soup, sandwiches and baking. Sorry - strictly no packed lunches permitted in the Ptarmigan Restaurant, shop or exhibition area.
