really nice relaxed holiday atmosphere

Hi Mark,

Thanks for getting in touch. We had a great time. The house was really nice lots of space for us and our friends which helped create a really nice relaxed holiday atmosphere. The quality of the decoration and facilities added to the ability to just relax. The helpfulness of both yourself and Colin was also a breath of fresh air, especially when I went a lost the key to the back door! The welcome of a bottle of 12 year old Glenlivet was a particularly nice and much appreciated touch, thank you for this.

We did hit a rather cold period, perhaps this is fairly normal for the area at this time of year? This coupled to the fact that a lot of places to visit were closed meant that there was a limit to what we could do especially with very young children having said that it did not seem to matter and for myself I enjoyed just being able to relax in a lovely environment. The house was well equipped for entertainment and having broadband was particularly appreciated.

Bottom line we enjoyed good company, good food, nice wine, very nice whisky in a lovely house and a lovely environment. Just what we wanted, thank you!

The house feels like home and we actually pretended it was ours!

We arrived expecting a cold welcoming it could not have been any different the weather was awesome. We both had time of our lives.

The house feels like home and we actually pretended it was ours! I am an English girl and this is my first visit to the Highlands and I love it so much we are now planning to buy a house near Tomintoul.

Craig my guy is from around these parts and he has been the most fantastic tour guide.

As for me I have had the time of my life and lots of wine. The facilities that have put in place here are surperb, right up to the Wi Fi. We broke the bottle opener (but don't woory we bought a new one). We found this to be the perfect place to tour from.

P.S. One day we hope to come back and celebrate.

Hillview was the perfect introduction to the Highlands

Our first visit to Scotland and I'm not sure we want to leave.

Hillview was the perfect introduction to the Highlands - Warm, welcoming, beautifully appointed, with every comfort imagineable.

The four kids in our group loved the space to run, the Highland cows and a playroom of their own.

The four adults were thrilled to have a living room to retire to after dinner, and generally with just about everything the area had to offer.

Colin and Lisa were very helpfull. It was lovely to meet you both.

Thanks for everything.

We had a fantastic break at Hillview Cottage

"We had a fantastic break at Hillview. Fortunately the weather was sympathetic to 4 days of walking, showing the scenery to its finest. With the intension of seeing contrasting countryside we found convenient walks suitable for short day trips including a thigh busting ascent of a local Ben, lesuirely amble round a loch and ramble across open moorland.

Having stocked up with supplies from Aviemore we found the accomodation to be of the highest standard. All requirements were more than adequately catered for and personalised. Space within was matched by the high level of cleanliness and suitable to cater for a couple hide away up to an extended family break.

We felt refreshed and recharged on returning home and were already talking about coming back.

I know Mark and Sadie and their imprint is evident in every room. Highly recomended."

Thanks

Mike

it all had a real stylish and luxury feel to it

Dear Mark & Sadie,

Firstly apologies for not having got in touch sooner (was in mega catch up mode at work and home since getting back form the cottage.)

I absolutely want to thank you for letting your fabulous cottage to us. It exceeded all expectations. So much lovely space (not at all apparent from your website) such good quality fixtures, fittings and furnishings; it all had a real stylish and luxury feel to it.

We want to compliment and congratulate you for thinking of & providing everything (& more besides) that any holidaymaker could ever want. Your inventory list is something else!!

Colin & Lisa were really welcoming and friendly and were at hand to report any issues to. (We had some really, really blustery windy nights and the window in the downstairs bedroom was very draughty, so we were able to get hold of Lisa to report this. Ultimately it wasn't an issue, as we managed to block the draught with some newspaper - certainly didn't spoil our holiday in any kind of a way)

We were so lucky with our weather too, who would have believed that we would have such lovely dry weather in the first week of March!! Lovely clear blue skies a perfect backdrop for the snow on the hills and mountains around. (Although you did feel the wind chill from that snow). Had a fabulous day up the Cairngorm Mountain, (by funicular) and would recommend this one to all visitors.

As we were out and about all day & everyday we didn't have time to enjoy any of the entertainment you provided, in the form of videos, dvd's jigsaws, books etc. but we felt grateful that they were always there for that rainy day.

Definitely will come back, (wish it were next week in fact...)

With sincere thanks & regards,
June Matthews

one of the best holiday properties

Hi Mark

Just a note to give you some feedback on our stay at Hillview. We have stayed at quite a few holiday houses throughout the north of Scotland. When you live in a home which is well equipped you tend to look at the similar properties for holidays; there’s no fun in ‘roughing it’!

We thought Hillview was of a very high standard and one of the best holiday properties we have stayed at. The open plan living area works well with a big group and has lots of light – even on grey days! The two separate sitting room areas worked well with the kids. As a holiday property we could not fault it. From a location point of view it is good for the distillery visits, the cooperage at Craigellachie and there is good walking to be had nearby. It was of particular interest to me because I stayed at Glenlivet Lodge some 25 years ago as a new employee of Glenlivet Distillers in Edinburgh.

Best regards

Hillview is a luxury cottage

Dear Mark and Sadie,
Just to say what a fantastic week we had, just what the doctor ordered!!! Hillview is a luxury cottage and the location was ideal to explore the highlands of Scotland. It is one of those few properties where we have look forward to getting back to at the end of the day.

We will definitely recommend you’re cottage to our friends and hope to be able to rent another week in 2006.

All the best.

Steve and Heather
