mixed weather in the first week which gave opportunity for lighting the store – has to be done, but needed to turn all other forms of heating off well in advance if not to overheat!
Walk up and over the hill at Dornie lvoely views, and round the coast to Garvie Bay beautiful. Drives to Lochinver, Point of stoer, and around to Poolewe in a circle all well worth it – lovely Bridge Coffee house & Gallery in Poolewe.
Agree completely with previous people about the Hydroponicum & Summer Isles Hotel. The salad bags from the Hydroponicum are fabulous. Also, excellent shop for wool next to sa feways in Ullapool – and ‘world’ goods etc. Walking shop & Ceiligh place also good for coffee papers, cakes and general musing. Don’t know where the hours go! House superb. Hope to return for 3 weeks as soon as possible.
Windyhill is a great place ti stat – by good fortune we had some poor weather, stove blazing, chair in the window snowing, would be arotol if the weather was good all the time. Excellent collection of pams in the kitchen, could do with a desert size over dish. Grand collection of books, have added some. The walk in the booklet that dakes you to twice Bay is brilliant for spotting seals. For deer, drive along the single track road from Ullapool when it is dart.
