we have enjoyed it as much as an any of the previous occasions. We started the week with the circular road walk (area 8.5
miles) Altandhu to Achnahaird then past Loch Raa and Loch Vatachan through Polbiar and back to Windyhill. We walked to the beach a day two. As a word of advice, we
would suggest not using the rear exit to the house. You will fastly soon the is very marshy ground. One of us can voucl for the knee-high depth of the water. We spent one lazy day watching the swisling masses below the window. On day tour we drive to the bookshop at Inver-kirkaig and did the walk up to the falls of Kirkaig.
This takes a little bit longer than is indicated by looking at the map. On our final day, we walked to the headland at old Dornie (just past the second jetty). The weather was glorious and the view magnificent. We haveit been fortunate enough to see any eagles but saw a heron at Loch Camas, plenty of Wheat ears, a few
oystercatchers, skylinks aplenty, twites and assorted tits’.
We are sorry that the original guest book no longer seems to be around because it cartaired so much collective knowledge. One tip to poss on is that Polbair Stores will deliver provisions is advance of your arrival. You can look them up on Google.
