The first 3 days we had gorgeous Sun and then ‘Windyhill’ lived up to it’s name with storms and games!!! The views are amazing and set a perfect scene whatever the weather. We have visited Scotland many times but have never come this far north – This is a gorgeous part of the country with dramatic and wild grandstands and Windyhill is a gorgeous cottage in that seeing. The walk to the Waterfall East Chual awinn is stunning and the effort is worth it.
The Kirkaig waterfall is also a plesant walk and we recommend walking the extra mile to have a picnic beside the pitunesque Fionn Loch below Sulven. Stac Pollaidh is a fantastic walk even if you don’t make it to the top. The low cloud cover beat us off the Summit path but the views were worth the effort. We went to John O’ Gruats.
We recommend that if you want a Great drive then just go as far as the kite of tongue on the north west coast sunset route. The drive beyond that point is no comparison to the first half. A walk around the points of stigma in high winds was electrifying & terrifying all at one :). We had rock with the wildlife and
watched a sufour of Dolphins swimming right by the bay at Achiltibue and famous them down the road into Polbiar. The many at the smokehouse says that this is common.
We also watched seas although this was in a bay about 4 miles beyond the point of store. An In Au it was a wonderful week that will have with us. Per a long, long time. Thank you for sharing Windyhill.
