Completely relaxed within a few hours of arriving here. – so tranquil, yet never dull. Sometimes it’s just enough to sit in to window & watch the world (well a small part) go by. Alex, Gerald, Eleanarl straight up Stac Pollaidh’s thanks on Sunday, Cul Mor on Monday was here challenging – especially the sleep on the way down!
Change in the weather for Tuesday & Wednesday – see this sight of Ullapool on Tuesday but Wednesday was something else! So much rain – entertainment included relaxing at the cloud leaves for the OS map & hattering -down the hatches.
Go out again on Thursday – Kids enjoyed a trip to knock on way to see how the geshigy of this fascinating area was discovered – nice walk along the top & great views of the Assynt mountains. Not all strictly 3000 but they certainly look & feel like mountains! Beach for anchet & Paddling. Last day – not a cloud in the sky this morning & warm. Off to the falls of Kirkaig – nice walk & an owful lot of water. Furnished of the day with a stop at Achmelvich Bay – lovely sand and a cooling paddle. Come back via main Lochinver – Ullapool road with fantastic views of the main peaks.
All in all a tremendous week – the area is inspiring, the house is perfect & the weather has been good (better than expected). The only draw back for city travelers is planning – our supermarket is just a five minute walk – Polbain Stores in excellent but still 10 mins by car. A fair trade for the chance to spend some time in this special place – an review not adien! We will return
27th May – 2nd June 2007 – Duncan/Godberg family
