we could not have picked a better location. What a wonderful hopuse, short of nothing,
big as character and what a stunning view. We spent most mornings sat in the window with a mug of coffee watching the Altandhu rush har go past (2 School buses and a blue car).
There are so many things to do around here, its hard to know where to start but you should try the little road to Lochinver, Its evenmore scary than the road to here and the beach at Achmelvich makes the trip worth it (We were even luckier to have the whole beach to ourselves), Ardrieck Castle and Loch Assynt are well worth seeing and if you go on the fast road hang around is a lay by at Ledmore Juction-you will see edges. we watched one sat on a gate post right next to the road.
If you spot the sign fee Rhue on the way to Ullapool, visit the studio there. The artist James Hawkings produces some weirdly beautiful work and is also the spitting image of David Beckhom! Knockan crag was worth doing even in the driving rain!
If you have a head for heights than a visit to Corrieshalloch Gorge is a must and I’m sure they make the bridge over. The waterfall wobble on purpose to add to the fear factor!
