We loved the house – very warm & comfy & the views are spectacular. We had virtually interrupted sunshine for the first few days & engaged the walks to Achnahaird bay, up Stac Pollaidh, to Achiltibuie & round Fox print. By Friday the wind had picked up & we had hail, slot, snow & rain but still managed a fairly sheltered walk at Cuharaig.
Despite local ads saying it was only open till September, the Piping School caste was still open & does a fantastic fruit some & Courgette & carrot cake. Good cake is one of the most important parts of any holiday. We ate several times at the Fuarar bar where the food is very good.
We were sad to see that the pig was no longer there. We fear that previous guests good intentions in feeding it apples may have had the unfortunate effect of fattering it up quicker! Perhaps she’s just been taken somewhere was me for the winter? Anyway, time to go now, sadly. I’m sure we’ll be back for another visit soon.
