We’ve been very lucky with the weather, which has been sunny or warm all week except for Friday when the mist rolled in

Driving to Windy Hill on the first day our breath was taken away by the views as we turned the comes at the top of the hill to come down to Altan dhu. The house is very comfortable; we especially enjoyed sitting and looking out from the Lip stain window. The hot tub has been a bonus, we’ve been in it at night looking at the star jilted shy or were lucky enough to see two shooting star – perfect.

We’ve enjoyed walks around little arrynt near Lochinver where. We saw golden eagles spooning in the sky and an adder warning itself on the footpath in the September sunshine. Locally, we walked up Old Domie and the views from the top were fantastic all around. Nothing better than sitting looking at the scenery eating your butlus with a flask of hot tea.

Eating wire, all our meals out were at the Fuaran Bar down the road. Every meal was good without exception. Particularly enjoyed the hard – dived Scallop, fresh langoustine, chicken pie – do not have a starter before any of the pies when you’ve really hungry, it was huge pie!

Wildlife has been eluseve in the main, been looking for dolphin or other all week but not a single one seen. Maybe next time.

The ‘walk’ to Suilvan from Inverkirkay is magnificent – it took 5 house t reach the summit ( werule, Caistese Liath), and a sunitor time to return back to the car park via the Falls of Kirkaig. They looked fantastic in the September sunshine cascading 50 fast into a log deep back me – very atmosphere! The paths were will defined (lots of bogg parts) – you take a shotcut path passing enterly over Cire Mor towards suliven.

The climb up stock Polly is exhieorting. After reaching the we on the north side, a narrow path w and climbs infinity or the south side to evantually reach a summit before the ‘draw bridge’ – Stock Polly’s manrais pos. This is for enough for me on the day – I’ll have to return to reach the their summit which is only a few meters hights!

Last day Friday – misty most of the day. Headed to the piper Cafe in Achiltibue for a spot of luch. Mushroom quicke or buttenut squash or chickpea curry both very good. They serve tea Leaf Tea – hurrah!

It’s now Friday evening, we’re mostly packed up or ready for an early start tomorrow – heading to St Cindrews to see our daughter. The only thing left to do is enjoy a glass or two of Prosecco this evening……………

13th September – 20th September 2014 – Jane or Robert – Montgomery, Powys.
