train-aviemore-300x210Why not have a holiday over Christmas and visit Scotland.  You can book one of our luxury holiday homes for the Christmas week, it’s a great way to really chill out and  enjoy the festive period.

Scotland has lots of Winter festivals and many towns and cities run events for the festive season and special events.  Our cottages are located in to distinct areas of Scotland, the Cairngorms and Achiltibuie.

Hillview Cottage – Sleeps 14

xmas-treeIf you are staying at one of these cottages for Christmas then you are in for a treat!  They are probably the most likely place in Britain to get snow for Christmas in my opinion.  Hillview is located only 20 minutes from the Lecht Ski resort and 40 minutes from Aviemore.

Kirkstone and Mountain View Lodge are only 19 miles from Cairngorm Mountain Ski Resort and 10 minutes from Aviemore.

Some ideas for a Christmas magical week:

  1. Go visit the Aviemore Reindeer Centre – These are tame and friendly animals are a joy to all who come and see them and a perfect treat for Christmas. Daily Hill Trips all year round: Depart at 11.00am  Visit the website for more information www.cairngormreindeer.co.uk
  2. Do the dog sledge – based at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountain Range, The Cairngorm Sleddog Centre offers a wide range of activities for the whole family. Visit www.sled-dogs.co.uk
  3. Why not book a meal on the Strathspey Steam Train, they run a Christmas lunch and dinner. Visit www.strathspeyrailway.co.uk/christmas-lunch-specials/

Achiltibuie for Christmas

This area of Scotland is absolutely stunning, the vistas as you drive towards Achiltibuie from the A835 are probably the best in the UK!  We visited Achnaird Beach on Christmas day and were the only people on, it was fantastic.  Self Catering in Scotland for Christmas is a great way to spend time with family and friends.
