My Name is Mark Scott and I run Great rental properties. This video is about self catering cottages and properties we have close to the Scottish ski resorts and a little bit about the ski resorts. The first two I would like to talk about because they are next door to each other is Mountain View Lodge and Kirkstone Lodge they are located about 10 miles from Aviemore and about 19 miles from the Cairngorm Mountain. The two cottages are located in Inveruglas which is a little hamlet which is set back about half a mile off the main road up a private track and you can walk right into the forest. You’ve got the Cairngorm Ski Resort ski resort which is only 19 miles away and you’ve also got there Nevis Range which about 50 miles.
The other three resorts are all within an hour to hour and a half these two cottages. The other location is Hillview Cottage which is in Glenlivet, that’s 15 minutes away from the Lecht Ski Resort. Which is fantastic for families and is about 40 minutes from the Cairngorm Mountain. Glenshee is also not far from Hillview, you have to go through the Lecht ski resort to get to Glenshee
You also go past Balmoral Castle, but it’s a lovely drive. So on to the cottages Mountain View Lodge, it sleeps 10 ideally for close friends and family. It has hot tub, sauna and pool table. It’s in a lovely location and the minute you walk in there you want to cozy on down it has that Mountain View Lodge feel about it next door to that is Kirkstone Lodge which is almost out throughout the year, so do book early to get the dates you want. Kirkstone is quirky, it’s fun, it’s got full Sky packages It’s got hot tub, sauna outside everything want if you are having a ski trip and you want to rest the legs at the end of the day. Hillview is the 2nd property we took on, it’s six bedrooms it’s got lots of living space and it’s fantastic and families and groups hot tub outside of course but being close to the Lecht it’s great for young families or beginners because the Lecht is one of the best resorts if you are just starting out.
Now onto the Ski resorts The Cairngorm Mountain is probably the most famous of the five of them it has a vernacular going up to it has about 30 km of skiing, it can get a bit busy at weekends and also on the school holidays. Glencoe Ski Resort is Scotland’s oldest ski center. It has 7 lifts, 19 runs and can cater for all types of snow sports. Glenshee is the largest ski resort in the UK ski resort boasts 36 runs different runs across 3 valleys and if it gets a good dump there its well worth paying a visit The Nevis range I skied this for the first time last year we were really impressed with it. It has got the mountain gondola, I took my kids up there and we had a really good day. The Lecht is the one that I started on when as a youngster it has 18 runs it’s really perfect for beginners, if
you want something a bit more challenging its probably not the resort to go to for beginners or families absolutely perfect it’s not a massive so it’s really easy and they have got a really nice lodge yes we did you can eat in.
