Having stayed as three previous occasions in Loch Olly we really like Windyhill as we can all be together, relaxing, cooking etc. We love this part of the world or the weather has been kind to us: we have even had sunny days which we did not have in June! Ventured to Lochinver where we passed a frozen loch or snaw – capped hill or mountains. We saw lots of red deer who kindly posed for us so we have some stunning photos.
We’ve had two meals at the Frigate in Ullapool which were really nice or we also ate at Furan Bar warned by a roaring fire. We visited Aibem in the Coigach craft shop. She made us coffee to chatted to us about the couple who wre ‘The Wee Mad Road’ Such – Barbara Malay who she knows well. It is warm a visit to her little shop will its wonderful query of goods just to talk to her.
We never time of the staggering beautiful scenery of this part gone Highlands. We took a gip aby the A832, having left Ullapool as the A835, towards Aulkea or Poolase. It is a beautiful view but nothing is open at this time of the year so we returned to Ullapool for a late lunch.
Like many order we love sitting in the window seats watching the beauty of the Summer Isles from the warmed or cosiness of this lovely house. How lucky are we?
