Weather has been pretty good as well. Would highly recommend Salt cafe in Polglass (15 mins drive) has been open about 8 weeks fantastic seafood and friendly staff ( not licensed so take your own wine) and cash only. We also ate at Am Fuaran bar which was lovely. We visited Ullapool which was pretty and ate in the Seaforth Inn which served good seafood (and dogs were allowed in the seating area under corner). Had some great walks – the walk to the radar station to the left of the house was about 2 hours keep walking part the station to the trig part and there are fantastic views are the Summer Isles. A short drive away in Achnahaird beach which is fantastic our 15 month old little boy & 2 dogs loved!!
One day we took the wee man road (it really is) towards Lochinver and stopped to do the walk to Kirkaig falls which is 5 miles (there and back) rocky but Spectacular views.
A harder walk is Stac Pollaidh, but well worth it for the views. We saw lots of sheep!! some red deer on the falls walk and drive down the wee mad road. We also saw seals sunbathing in theloch on the wee mad road. Plenty of beautiful birds here especially the green Lenchs and loved the hot tub!!!
