despite the best attempts of the Scottish weather to dampen our holiday! loved the open downstairs space and the hot tub and sauna were well used, even in the rain. 🙂
TV was fabulous for watching the Olympics, lots of medals for team GB – Yey!
Segway at Rothiemurchus was great fun and surprisingly easy. lovely farm shop there too,
Treezone was a big hit with the teenagers – quite tricky apparently! Couldn’t get in to Zipworld though – Knew we should have booked earlier.
We went up the funicular railway to Mount Cairngorm – which was great, even though we were in the clouds – saw reindeer from the train.
The Osprey Centre at Loch Garten was lovely and lots of activities for the kids. Mountain biking from Loch insh was good and cheaper than at Rothiemurchus. The Boathouse restaurant was nice, but best to book as very busy (last orders 8pm). We also went to the Italian on the roundabout at Aviemore, which had lovely gluten free pizza, which was a surprise. Also tried the Go Kart track – great fun.
Loved the views of deers from the back window at dusk and saw one out on the road outside one evening. Also the hares on your left as you go down the drive – very cute.
Best trip of holiday was the Wildlife Park – which you can just spot from the window – great little zoo with our favourite red pandas. Get there before 11 to see the red panda feeding, and book the land rover tour when you get there. Had a great week – hopefully the weather will imp[rove for those following us.
